Legacy Camera Installation Part 1
(for Win64)
What if I have Mac OS X instead?
System Requirements
- Depth sensing camera(s), camera mount(s) and camera frame as described on our legacy hardware page.
- PC with at least an Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB RAM
- Windows 7 64-bit
- Java SE 6 64-bit
- Depth sensing camera SDK (based on your hardware)
- OpenNI (if you have Xbox 360 Kinect(s) or Asus sensor(s))
- Kinect for Windows (only if you have the Kinect for Windows sensor(s))
Installation

- Assemble the frame as shown in the assembly instructions and set it up on your desk (See Figure 1). If you are using two cameras (not recommended), they need to be connected to ports on separate USB controllers on your computer. All modern computers have at least two usb controllers. Usually ports from separate USB controllers are further apart than ports on the same USB controller.
- Download and install the SDK 64-bit binaries.
- Request a license from 3Gear Systems and place the license.yml file where you installed the SDK 64-bit binaries. (This is typically C:\Program Files\NimbleSDK)
- Print the checkerboard (on letter or A4 paper). See Figure 2, foam board optional.
